The lure of the lost
Purpose:
Cataloguing things you've lost, in one way or another.
You will need:
- A journal or notebook, digital or dead tree format.
- Writing implements of choice.
- Optional: photographs, images, other ephemera, and the means to attach them to your entries.
Do:
- Whether recent or ancient, think about all the things you've lost over the years - physical or not.
- Write an entry of some kind about each thing - prose, poem, whatever you prefer.
- Add images if you have them, or draw something.
- Surmise about what might have happened to them if you're not sure how they were lost, or write about how they actually got lost if you know.
Notes:
- Keep a running list of things as they come to you so that you can write about them when the mood strikes.
- If you lost your heart, you could write about that too.
- You could turn your memories and loss into more fanciful stories, or go beyond the mundanely descriptive into the creatively detailed.
