Daily journal junk
A quick idea on what to do with your journal if you're new to keeping one and aren't sure where to start, want something more structured and simple, or just for fun.
Each day, choose:
- What was your song/soundtrack.
- Pick a colour to look out for, or one that make the most appearance, or something that was most notable.
- Today's weather, outside and personal.
- Something you noticed.
- Word of the day - something noticed, something to look up, something new.
- Something to tell someone else about.
- Daily ephemera, if there is something. Write something about it, or what it involved, and keep that to one or two lines only.
- An adventure, whether that be outside the home or inside, something simple or complex. Did you go somewhere new or watch something new? Or even something for the future, perhaps a question to ask someone next time you see them.
- The colour palette of your clothes for the day.
- Write a six-word story every day.
- The daily photo pair. Using your phone's camera, take two photos each day. One that represents an external of your day (a street, a random item on the street, your desk, your home, etc, and one that represents your inside, like something that represents your feelings of warmth, frustration, creativity, etc.
You could do any or all of these, or none, and come up with your own ideas to try. Don't forget that it's okay to skip a day now and then if you want to, or choose different things to try each day.
