I opened up one of the cooler units at the variety store the other day and had the sudden epiphany that it was a very good thing it's a cooler I don't go into much. It smelled like basement. I felt this did not bode well for the food items inside, and promptly closed it, choosing snack items from a safer part of the store. Now, that odour, in and of itself, was bizarre enough, but what really got me was the metal tray on the top shelf that said "cat litter pan" on the side. I didn't dare look.
