People think it's whacko that there are certain films I've never seen. I admit, it's somewhat whacko in the case of some films, but only some.

There are an awful lot of films I've (currently) never seen that seem culturally de rigeur. This list of films includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Alien (or any of its begatted offspring - not really bothered by this, either. I don't need to see it to get the Spaceballs jokes.)
  • American Pie (or any of its begatted tartlets)
  • Citizen Kane (I've only seen part of it. I fell asleep somewhere during the first hour. I feel not one smidgen of upset or shame over this. Orson Welles (RIP) made boring movies. His Macbeth reeks of fermented yak's milk.)
  • Scarface (I've watched large chunks of it, but it was so damned boring I couldn't make it all the way through. Not interested in any way in Tony Montana's balls, or any other part of him. Sorry Al.)
  • The second and third Matrix movies (Wow, the first one was such a monumental thrill that I can't believe I didn't rush right out and snap up the other two upon immediate availability. Was the sarcasm obvious enough there, or do I need to ramp it up some?)
  • Taxi Driver
  • Vertigo
  • Das Boot
  • Forrest Gump
  • The Sting
  • Strangers on a Train
  • Titanic (I've seen the original black and white version, but these eyes will hopefully never be assaulted with that other... thing.)

Except where obviously noted above, I am most heartily ashamed for so-far having missed these films.
