textual

Textual communication is all well and good for its convenience, for its relative inexpense, and because - for me at least - it can really help separate the men from the boys when it comes to one thing I find attractive: good language skills. Poor use of the English language when there's no real reason for it, can be a big turn-off for me, but that's not the biggest issue with it - the biggest issue with textual communication is the fact that there are a lot of things that can get lost when you're indulging in it: You can lose the flavour of someone's words or tone; you can miss a person's mood, miss the fact that they're angry or upset or elated; you can also completely misunderstand someone who has an unusual way of expressing themselves. This is why I prefer clear speech when it comes to textual things, because otherwise you can completely misunderstand someone, or simply have no clue what they're talking about.
