seek err

Seek and ye shall find ... crap.

I watched something awful, which I think you need to avoid. It's some new TV series called Legend of the Seeker, which is apparently based on the novels of Terry Goodkind, whose work I've never read (and which I now definitely will never pick up).

Oh lordy lordy is it ever contrived and derivative. It's awful. The dialogue is nauseatingly predictable for that sort of story (come on, does someone really need to use the phrase "ample bosom"?!), and the names of some of the characters are enough to make me want to hurl. I'm not going to repeat them. Look them up, but keep an airsick bag handy.

This person seriously needs a heavy dose of anti-Tolkien or something, or perhaps to stop watching Xena and Hercules; or, even worse, Beastmaster.

The ONLY good thing about this show is that the costuming is good (if predictable). That's all. I swear it. I love a good dose of costume drama and fantasy, and as bad as my taste can be, and as pedestrian, this show can't scale even that little wall.

You see a signpost up ahead, you are entering the no-watch zone.
