If you could have the writing ability of one author, who would you choose, and why? Would you exchange writing styles permanently?

The first thought that popped into my head was Edgar Allan Poe, and only because of the clever word use in "The Raven". I'm not a fan of flowery talk, but I do love novel and astute use of words, and "The Raven" uses language so cleverly and artfully.

And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.

How can you beat that for an image?
