I was just talking with someone about how the seemingly simplest things sometimes give the greatest pleasures. On my list are:

• a good cup of tea
• a good night's sleep
• weekend afternoons with my favourite time-filling films
• creating stuff - painting, writing, taking pictures, etc.
• rich colours on an overcast day
• train rides
• some attention
• the silence right after a nighttime snowfall
• companionship
• listening to rainfall

There is so much to be said for simple pleasures, for light laughter, for casual conversation, for the serious mixed in with the silly, and all of it enjoyed in equal measure.

Lovely little pleasures, like the warmth of tea and the comfort of sleep, the sound of a voice and the pleasures it brings, the beauty of people moving in unison and the joy of becoming one of them, the colours of glass beads and their shared jubilation.
