measure
I used to think, when I was younger, that if I wasn't the best at something, then my life was not complete. I learned, years later, that I was not a genius or a prodigy, and would never be either. I learned, after that, to be satisifed with both those facts, and at that point I learned to be satisifed with the one thing no one else but I could do - and that's being myself, and not comparing myself in that ugly, Hobbesian manner, only against the measure of others.
