These are James Lipton's 10 Questions (Inside the Actor's Studio), based on the Proust Questionnaire.
- What is your favorite word?
I don't think I have one, I love too many of them - although I like the way the French word 'confiture' rolls off the tongue.- What is your least favorite word?
Cunt - because it sounds so dirty and unclean.- What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Colours, shapes, blends, patterns, good philosophy, curiosity, boppy music, the exhaling freshness and freedom of spring.- What turns you off?
Mocking people for having knowledge. Over the course of a lifetime one just learns things, and it doesn't necessarily follow that there was anything untoward happening in relation to garnering that knowledge. So why is it some people find it so easy to judge someone for knowing something?Deliberate and intentional ignorance.
Slovenly behaviour.
- What is your favorite curse word?
Well, when I'm not just reacting to something (which usually just elicits your average 'fuck', or variants thereof), I like wanker.- What sound or noise do you love?
The sound of wind in the trees and tires driving on wet streets.- What sound or noise do you hate?
People arguing, especially when they're being cruel or vulgar to each other - like the neighbour of mine who, a couple of days ago, and into the hallway on our floor, said loudly to his ladyfriend, "Go get fist-fucked you cunt." That kind of nastiness is revolting.Monotonous droaning of any kind - vacuum cleaners, lawnmowers, appliances.
- What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Anything that involved something creative - maybe putting art kits together.- What profession would you not like to do?
The person who has to clean up human matter after a violent crime has been committed.- If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
Come right in (as the alternative would mean something unpleasant that I may not want to face). - What is your least favorite word?
