do it

I used to think that when one was taking pictures of things, that one had to do it in a "photographer's" manner. I have discovered, much to my pleasure, that taking photographs is much like any other act of creation or mementoing - it is the doing that matters, the end result will take care of itself. Very few things on this earth are masterpieces, one can't expect that - the important thing is to do, to have connection with the doing.

I remind myself of some words I wrote a long time ago: "Live, don't just exist." Just do it. I miss the connection I used to have with the most simple things around me, the charge I got out of the oddest little things. I am going to find it again.
