I think the deities were more than benevolent, more than enlightened, when they invented the wonder that is cream cheese. I mean, is there anything on earth that can so readily go with every meal, all snacks, and even produce some of the most sinful desserts a human can imagine? I think not. Just like bacon will sometimes turn a vegetarian into a backsliding recidivist, I think cream cheese can do the same for those who have sworn off dairy. Right now I am eating a most succulent toasted bagel with cream cheese on it. Mmm, that tasted like another.
