chick flick
I can't abide this expression. I'm not complaining on some feminotzi basis - I'm not a feminist, per se. It just sounds ridiculous, and offensive to me as a human being; as if, being female, I'm relegated to romantic comedies; as if, being male, they are forever barred from enjoying them. I would be more likely to refuse watching a film if it's labelled a chick flick, than I would be drawn to it. Much like how screaming women faking orgasmic noises in commercials, turn me off buying certain brands of shampoo.
